To sign up for any trip, blitz the leader of that trip with your DA$H number (make sure you have money in your account!) or saying you'd like to pay in cash.  Your spot will be reserved once you pay.  If the trip is free, just blitz the leader to reserve a spot.

The Feed!
Come to the Rock to eat a delicious home-cooked meal this Wednesday! Menu is yet to be determined, but it's gonna be good. Free for '17s, and only $4 for upperclassmen!

What: John Rand Cabin Overnight and firetower hike

When: 5 pm Friday - 9:30 am Saturday

Leaders: Jesse Rieb and Loring Schaible

Why?!: Because you know you want to get away from campus for a night and sleep in a cabin and enjoy a quick, easy hike to an awesome view!  It may be snowy!

Cost: $1 DOC, ~$6 non-DOC

Blitz: Loring Schaible with DA$H to sign up


SATURDAY SATURDAY SATURDAY

What: Holt’s Ledge
When: 1 PM – 4 PM
Leader(s): Max Deibel and Kassie Amann
Why: Because you this is your chance to squeeze in a final hike before finals!
It’s a freakin’ fantastic ‘fore finals fieldtrip!  Come spend a few hours outside in the sunlight before you descend into the abyss of the stacks for days and days.  Holt’s is a short, easy, 4 mile hike with some pretty awesome ledges midway and some hiking on the Skiway minus ski-able snow.  It’s going to be a fabulous study break and there will be snacks!!!
Cost: $1 for DOC, $3 for non-DOC

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY


What: WTF! Mount Willey, Tom, and Field (all official 4000 footers)

When: Leaves Sunday at 7:00AM, returns around dinnertime
Leader(s): John French and Mac Murphy
Length: 10 miles
Difficulty: Strenuous
Why: Summit three official 4000 foot peaks in one hike! If you're looking to complete all 48, this is a great start! There will be a good portion of the hike spent along the Willey Ridge. These peaks are located in the beautiful Crawford Notch with views looking towards the Southern Presidentials. With a great location, great people, and the satisfaction of summiting three great peaks, this will be a hike to remember.
Cost: $7 for DOC members, ~$12 for Non-DOC members

What: Mt. Tecumseh Dayhike
When: 9 am- 5 pm
Leader(s): Ben Bauer and Victoria Nelsen
Why: Couldn't make it last week?? You lucked out because of weather, but don't miss this final opportunity! Mt. Tecumseh is the lowest 4,000 footer with great views and a moderate hike that is about 5.5 miles, around 1,000 feet of elevation gain, and has an awesome reward at the top. This could be one of your last opportunities to go on a longer hike this term, so take advantage of the final weekend of fall!
Cost: $5 for DOC and $12 for non-DOC members

What: Velvet Rocks Hike!!
When: 1pm-4pm
Leader(s): Hunter van Adelsberg and Kristen Chalmers
Why: Because Velvet Rocks are classy like velvet. And there will be warm drinks.
Come hike a casual 5.2 mile roundtrip expedition right from campus to see where the AT picks up from Hanover! A great way to see the world outside the library before locking yourself in for finals!!!
Cost: $3 for both DOC and non-DOC members.

What: a sunset hike to the Gile Mountain fire tower
When: Sunday, November 17 from 3:00-5:30 PM
Leaders: Anna Knowles, Caroline Resor
Why: it's fun to eat snacks and watching the sunset!
Cost: 1 dollarzzzz for DOC members and 2 dollarzzzz for non-DOC members

If you're not a DOC member, BECOME a DOC member.  $20 for an annual membership (memberships run from July 1 - June 30) or $50 for a student career membership (which expires June 30 of the year you graduate).  Contact Julie Bell to sign up.  Fees for trips as a DOC member are much less, and sometimes free.
