WEDNESDAY WEDNESDAY WEDNESDAY

Two tables diverged on a diner's wood,
And sorry I could not sit at both
And having one menu, long I looked
And looked down one list of pancake options as far as I could
To where it bent beneath a syrup stain;

Then took the other, just as sticky,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was large and fit many friends,
Though as for that the sitting there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both tables that morning equally lay
With napkins no lips had wiped brown.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how pancakes lead on to eggs
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two tables diverged on a diner's wood, and I,
I sat at the one with some Dinertoure guys,
And that has made all the difference.
