The Team - The Mechanical Engineering team at Mission Motors works on a blend of challenges from prototypes through to production. Our designs focus on efficient use of materials and space as well as usability from initial assembly until the end of product use.  We are passionate about solving complex engineering problems and are committed to developing well-executed and fully-realized products.

The Role - The Senior Mechanical engineer candidate should possess relevant experience in the design and testing of high power electronic enclosures with consideration towards their use in harsh environments.  They should also have experience working with teams that include electrical and software engineers, and should excel at addressing the mechanical needs across these disciplines.  The ideal candidate is among the best at what s/he does and is universally appreciated by his/her colleagues.

The person filling this role will be a key contributor to the Mission Motors core technology team and have the opportunity to work alongside top engineers on some of the most exciting electric vehicle programs in the world. POSITION:  Senior Mechanical Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:
*  BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering
*  5-10+ years experience in industry

REQUIREMENTS:
*  Proven technical leadership abilities
*  Expert level proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software; SolidWorks strongly preferred
*  Experience with all stages of product development, from concept generation to manufacturing release
*  Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials
*  Extensive experience designing complex electro-mechanical systems and components
*  Experience with defining and meeting product regulatory, environmental, reliability, and safety requirements
*  Familiarity with specification creation, FMEA, DFM, DFA, and test plan writing.
*  Strong analytic problem solving skills
*  Strong organization and documentation skills

BONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE WITH:
*  Automotive components design and development
*  Working with a contract manufacturer
*  Hands on use of machine tools

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
*  Mechanical lead in commercializing Mission's next generation products
*  Lead responsibility for design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
*  Select, qualify and manage vendors
*  Collaborative work with power electronics, control electronics, software design, and systems engineers
*  Component and assembly design and engineering, and detailed drawing creation
*  Mechanical and system test plan writing and oversight of test execution
*  Integration of powertrain systems into customer or Mission vehicles
