We try to use standard input methods for maximum compatibility. We have had too much trouble in the past with needing special fonts for special inputs.

I've developed a Windows keyboard that uses system fonts (Times, etc) to display Pinyin and other languages in transliteration. You can find it here:
http://apps.carleton.edu/its/flt/languagespecific/USIntlExtended/

On the Mac, you can use the US Extended keyboar and it has all of the characters you need for Pinyin.
