Good afternoon,
I am wondering if anyone has been using the Google Pinyin Input Tool in a lab setting with their students. A Chinese professor here would like to start using this, but I am wondering how it will work in a lab setting.

Couple of notes: We are not a Google Apps campus, and we are discouraged from using tools that require accounts which are not contracted with the university. Faculty can "get away with it" sometimes depending on the circumstances, but as it isn't clear to me whether or not this tool requires a login (or just offers a synching option if one uses a login), I don't know whether it might be a sticky point to download the software to the computers.

We also run Deep Freeze on our computers so any "learning" that the program can do is moot without a cloud solution because any changes to users profiles are lost as soon as the student logs off.

Any wisdom through experience or insight into this tool you may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Deanne Cobb-Zygadlo
