San Jose Water Company is currently accepting applications for a *Junior
Engineer*.  Please see the Operating Engineer job posting below.  Resumes

*Junior Engineer*

Under the general direction of the Senior Civil Engineer of Planning, the
Junior Engineer performs routine assignments in the Water Company
Engineering Unit related to determining the size and layout of pipelines
and facilities, fire flow analyses of new tracts and projects, preparation
of engineering studies related to water supply distributions, and operation
of SJWC's water system.  Some exercise of independent judgment is required.
Some directions from others is required.****

*Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*****

   - Useful and proficient knowledge of CAD (Bentley Microstation preferred
   but AutoCad acceptable).****
   - Functional use of engineering mathematics and ability to solve
   problems with engineering calculations.****
   - Ability to work independently and to complete challenging assignments.*
   ***
   - Competent in the use of personal computers, including word processing,
   spreadsheet, database, CAD (computer aided drafting) and capacity for
   exercise of other office and engineering software employed by the company.
   ****

*Education and Experience:*****

   - Graduation from an accredited college or university with a major in
   civil, electrical or mechanical engineering, or possession of a valid
   E.I.T. certificate.****

*Other Requirements:*****

   - Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a
   satisfactory driving record.****
