I am working on three Moodle modules that we are planning to use to replace our current language lab system. If these modules work well, we'll continue to work further implementations of the recorders we've developed. The assignments are a single file Audio recording assignment, a single file Video recording assignment, and then a Language Lesson activity type that includes the ability to intermix various question types including audio and video recordings.

I mention this only because it's a project in the works, although it's not yet ready to release widely. But perhaps Moodle-schools might find them useful when we it's ready for distribution. It will be contributed to the Moodle module database at that time.
