Today at the far end of Norford Lake a pair of Canada geese were seen
swimming into the little cove. They began circling each other, dipping
their heads into the water in unison, until the male suddenly jumped
onto the female and the two went for a ride. Seconds later, he jumped
back into the water, both geese flapped their wings energetically,
honked a few times, and swam off in opposite directions. A brief
spring romance to be followed, no doubt, by building a home and
starting a family.
