I've been hearing a "peenter" while walking back to my car late in the evening in the DHMC employee parking on the east side of the DHMC campus. Last night I could hear the wing sounds of the courtship display, as well. Stood around for a moment hoping to locate what direction it was coming from, when I heard the "peenting" start up again a short distance away.
I spotted the bird on the grass at the edge of the parking lot, and approached within about 30 feet before it took off again.
