Just a reminder that you're all cordially invited to the MAALLT 2011 Unconference,
which begins March 4 at the University of Richmond. There's still time to plan
a road trip to lovely central Virginia, where the flowers are already blooming
in the sunshine.

If you can't attend in person, we hope you will participate virtually. We are
planning to blog, tweet, and Ustream as much as possible of Saturday's sessions.
We'll also use the chatroom at the conference website (http://maallt2011.grouply.com)
for discussions.

To participate virtually, join the site at http://maallt2011.grouply.com and plan
now to follow the tweets from @global_studio. Up-to-date information about session
topics will be posted and tweeted. To participate in person, join the site and
complete the registration form--or simply show up at the International Center
to register.

This first-ever MAALLT Unconference is an experiment in collaborative learning,
so we'd like to have as many virtual participants as possible. There are also
opportunities to present virtually via Skype! (Just let us know what you'd like
to talk about.)

Here's the tentative schedule:

Friday, March 4: registration/reception 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. International
Center Commons

Saturday, March 5: continental breakfast/registration from 8 a.m. in
the International Center Commons

9:15 a.m.: schedule update and first morning session

                         10:00 - 10:55 a.m.: refreshment break and second morning
session

11:00 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.: GIS session in the Spatial Analysis
Lab (3rd floor International Center)

12:30 - 1:40: Lunch and Conversation (lunch not included
in registration)

                          1:45 - 5:45 (tentative): Afternoon Sessions (refreshment
break at 3 p.m.)

Sunday, March 6: 9 a.m. Continental Breakfast on second floor on International
Center

                          9:30 - 11:30 Wrap-up sessions and MAALLT Business Meeting
(refreshment break at 10:30)

Topics to be discussed include:

1. We have live TV, what do we do with it?

2. What do ideal learning spaces look like? (You'll be seeing lots of examples
in the new International Center, including an outdoor 'classroom'.)

3. Using podcasting, Flips, and blogging to meet instructional goals

4. There's an app for that! Show-and-tell plus discussion of favorite apps for
mobile devices, how to incorporate into classes, and places to find more

5. CALL research trends and resources

6. Technology and study abroad

...and many more (depending on participant suggestions)

We look forward to your participation!
