If you're interested in becoming a leader for the mountain biking club, now is
a great time. Trails are starting to dry out, and riding season approaches.
The leader requirements are posted on the wiki:

http://doc.dartmouth.edu/wiki/Leader_Requirements_and_Procedures#Mountain_Biking_Club_Leader_Requirements

but basically what you need is to;
1 - complete the DOC leader requirements. Group Dynamics and Risk Management are
courses offered by Rory Gawler. About 1 hour each, and have not yet been determined
when they'll get offered. Blitz him with interest, but they'll get sent out to
this list once those times are set. Also First aid and CPR, though wilderness
first aid is preferable. This term it is being offered as a PE credit, which is
a great way to kill two birds. Check on banner for it, it only takes a weekend
[or maybe even just one day depending on who is offering it] and is a useful skill
to have. Standard first aid and cpr are also offered as PE credits this term.

once you've gotten all that, MBC has a few of its own particular requirements;
2- you must be a competent rider who would be able to teach good technique to
beginners
-You must have the mechanical skills to keep bikes in good condition, and repair
basic breakages on the trail
-You must have your own bike
-You must complete 2 co leads

Becoming a leader is the best way to contribute to the club, and to help grow
interest in biking and get new people involved. Its also a lot of fun, and will
give you the chance to help determine how the club operates. Blitz back if you
have any questions about it, or if you are planning on trying to become a leader
this term. We can organize mechanic skills sessions as necessarry.
