Good Morning and Happy New Year,
I need some help ID'ing a hawk in my backyard this am. It was either a
Sharp-shinned or Coopers. The head was very dark, I did not see the eye, a
long tail and I'm not good at estimating length. When it left it flew down
toward the ground and between my house and barn instead of up and over.
Based on my Sibley's I'm thinking Coopers but would like other opinions.
The little birds are back, goldfinches, chickadees, doves, juncos, etc. so
expect the hawk went on to other feeder yards.
