>Subject: Nyrius Global Talking Translator for 12 Languages
>To: Language Learning and Technology International Information Forum <[log in to unmask]>

Happy New Year to all!

Our Dean of International Education has asked if I know anything about the Nyrius
Global Talking Translator. I've looked at the website and the Amazon reviews,
and it seems this works pretty well as a talking phrase-book, but 'talking translator'
promises more than it delivers. Does anyone have any experience with this product
or comparable products? (This Dean is a supporter of language learning and would
never consider this as a substitute for multilingualism, but she and her staff
often travel places whose languages they haven't learned.)

Thanks,
Sharon
