Hi Dan, 

1. I agree with you point; my trouble was I've played too much lately with the terminal window, and I was considering only the 'escaped' syntax for the path, when Mark mentioned the quoted posix path window, eveything went into place.
As you say, I'm not building the path variable with quotes already in place, I just put them when I build the shell script line, surely a good policy.

2. Thank you, name noted, my english is a bit 'unsolid' in certain areas :-)


As a side question, you mention about removing the extension of the filename, any tricks to do this in the best way ?
Given that there are no out-of-the-box commands for this, do I just have to play with strings, looking for a . from the right etc. ? looks a bit 'unprofessional'....
