This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, December 8th, 
2010.



A female HOODED WARBLER was discovered in a wooded area adjacent to the 
Seabrook Wastewater Treatment Plant on November 27th, and has been seen 
several times since then. The most recent report was from December 8th.



There were several sightings of a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE along the coast 
during the past week including 1 seen off of North Hampton State Beach on 
December 4th, and one off of Little Boar's Head in North Hampton on the 1st, 
4th, and 6th. It is not clear if there is more than one individual being 
seen.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was reported from Bow on December 2nd.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE and 11 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at the Pease Golf Course on 
December 2nd, and a different NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at the Pease 
International Tradeport on the 4th. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Hardy Hill 
Road near the junction with Stevens Road in Lebanon on December 4th.



3 RAZORBILLS and 90 BONAPARTE'S GULLS were reported from Fort Stark in New 
Castle on December 5th.



A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen in Hampton Harbor, and an ICELAND GULL was seen at 
Hampton Beach State Park, both on December 6th.



A NORTHERN SHOVELER was seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on 
December 6th.



110 RUDDY DUCKS were counted from the west side of Great Bay on December 
4th.



A small flock of COMMON REDPOLLS was seen feeding in birch trees along 
Gilford Brook in Sawyer Meadows in Gilford on December 5th.



A flock of at least 100 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was reported from the Plymouth 
State University campus on December 2nd, and a flock of over 25 were seen in 
Lyme on the 5th.



A flock of 16 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS and 12 EVENING GROSBEAKS was seen in a tree 
in Lyme Center on December 4th.



A flock of 21 EVENING GROSBEAKS was seen in Lyme on December 5th, and a 
flock of 10 EVENING GROSBEAKS was seen in New Durham on December 4th.



7 PURPLE SANDPIPERS were seen at Concord Point in Rye on December 5th.



8 AMERICAN COOTS were seen in Eel Pond in Rye on December 8th.



A late-migrant COMMON YELLOWTHROAT and a late-migrant male AMERICAN KESTREL 
were seen at the Dillant-Hopkins Airport in Swanzey/Keene on December 3rd.



A late-migrant AMERICAN KESTREL was reported from North Haverhill on 
December 6th.



A late migrant HERMIT THRUSH was seen at Odiorne Point State Park in Rye on 
December 5th.



A late-migrant OSPREY was seen in Peterborough on December 4th.



A late-migrant TURKEY VULTURE was seen in Westmoreland on December 2nd, and 
one was seen in Hampton on the 7th.
