Hi Muhammad,

We've been pleased with Audacity: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

It records and saves as WAV. You can also get a plug-in to save to MP3.

We have a couple how-to guides that might be useful for you - Getting Started
with Audacity and Audacity for Podcasters - at http://lss.wisc.edu/how-to/130

Enjoy,

Doug
