>Subject: online digital language laboratories - are there any research sources
>to compare these?
>To: LLTI-Editor <[log in to unmask]>

Hello all,

I have spent a significant amount of time looking at online digital
language laboratory solutions over the past couple of years and have
found a couple that seem to meet our needs....However, one of the
decision makers here has asked me to find out if there are any
research studies that compare solutions and evaluate their
effectiveness in a quantitative and qualitative manner.

I know IALLT has published a report on digital language learning
centers, but I am assuming that it covers physical language lab
spaces. Am I mistaken about that - or does it also include online lab
programs? Does anyone know of any other studies or reports that
discuss the various online solutions (e.g., SANSSpace, OWL, WebSwami,
Wimba Voice, etc.)?

Thanks in advance,
Tina
