Subject: Nominations open for IALLT Board positions

Greetings IALLT members:

As the Past President of IALLT, it is my duty to organize and oversee the
upcoming elections for two IALLT Board positions. They are the positions of
IALLT President Elect and the IALLT Treasurer.

I am delighted to be joined by Trip Kirkpatrick of Yale University and
Sarah Withee of Colorado College on the Elections Committee.

The IALLT Elections Timeline:

October 15 through December 15, 2010: The Call for Nominations will be
open. Members may nominate other members or self nominate. Nominations may
be sent by email to any member of the election committee. During the
nomination process, the IALLT Election Committee will review each
nomination, answer any questions that the nominee may have, and assist the
candidates in preparing a personal statement to be shared via the website
during the voting period.

January 1 through February 1 2011: Candidates' biographies will be
distributed via the members-only portion of the IALLT website.

February 1- March 1 2011: Online voting will be coordinated throught the
IALLT website to ensure security, member only access, and fairness.

March 15 2011 Election results will be announced via LLTI, the IALLT web
site, and email to the membership, or by other electronic means.

New officers are installed during the IALLT business meeting at IALLT 2011
at UC-Irvine in June 2011.

Please note:

Nominees must be IALLT members in good standing.

You may nominate another member or you may self-nominate.

The current IALLT Board is aware that many members have been reluctant to
be considered for the President-elect position because of limitations placed
on travel funds from their home institutions. The IALLT Board is willing to
work with the future President-elect on a case by case basis should there be
a need for partial funding assistance in order to attend IALLT Annual
meetings.

We look forward to answering your questions and receiving your nominations,

Barbara Sawhill
Past President, IALLT
