Our contract for Blackboard Enterprise is nearing its end. Although we
like the features that this provides, we have too often found the
support to be too little too late and the cost to be exorbitant.

We are looking at other systems like Moodle, Sakai, perhaps
Desire2Learn. We are also looking at the proposed improvements in
Blackboard Enterprise 9 in order to decide whether to transition to
something else. We do not want to lose a lot of the features that we
enjoy in Blacboard Enterprise, and we do not want to lose data. But we
have to lower the cost!

Most readily available LMS/CMS comparison information is at least
several years old. The problems experienced by users at that time have
most likely been fixed and replaced with new problems.

I know that many schools find themselves in the same boat, or have
recently had to decide how to replace WebCT. I would appreciate any
information that LLTIers would like to share.
