Hi all,

We got different Dish Network packages (Latino, German) and different
individual channels (RAI, GLOBO, TVJapan, TV5) that were added over a
couple of years, so all services had different renewal dates,
different billing cycles (e.g., monthly vs. annual), and different
account numbers. After a year of trying, a couple of months ago I
finally got their customer service to close all accounts except one,
and to move all the services from the closed accounts to the one
remaining account. They would also change all subscriptions to annual
(except German, which they said could only be monthly).

That would give us one account number, one annual renewal date, which
was perfect. The downside was that, for each additional receiver on
that account, we had to pay an extra $5, but for the purposes of
organizing our finances, it was well worth it. After all was
finalized, they found a credit of around $500 that we had somehow
overpaid for some of the services.

Only two months later, we received the same letter everyone else
received, saying they were switching back to monthly. Oh, well, I'm
leaving my position anyway at the end of this academic year, so I
cannot spend any more time dealing with them (there are many other
areas I want to improve so that I leave a well organized center to
the next director). But at least I tried, so that we would get a
simple, easy-to-deal-with billing system.
