Hello.

What file format do you use / is your institution moving towards for
streaming video?

What do your users find most user-friendly for *at home use* ? This is
for students to do as homework or in blended programs, not for in-class
or even on-campus viewing. It has to be free to play and cross-platform
for users' at-home ease-of-use.

What format are your departments going with in the near/far future
(regardless of what you have been using so far)? Do you have a written
policy about that?

Currently, we have most videos for language/culture classes streaming
from a realserver (password-protected/University-only access to rm
files). Some departments are looking to put up large amounts of content,
which also would likely be password-protected. It's not 200* anymore, so
we have other options available as well. I have my own opinions, and I
found some policies at other universities, but not specific to language
depts. What are your recommendations on this issue, and why?

thanks so much
