The most successful copyright conversations that I've had with students
is when I've approached the topic from the perspective of them as
creators and what their rights are, as opposed to telling them what they
can and cannot do. Once the issue is put into a context of what their
rights are and how they can license their work to make it clear what
rights they are permitting (via Creative Commons), it is much easier for
them to understand. And once they understand, they start putting into
practice some better habits regarding using others' creative works.
It's a start!

Subject: #9332 Copyright and Art Work

Hi Folks,

I am trying to figure out how to enforce copyright laws with students
who
download artwork from the web to use in their projects.

Any advice or suggestions?
