I take mine to a small recording studio in town. They have the old equipment and
charge me $10-a bargain for irreplaceable tapes. I'm sure there are similar
studios all over.

Dear LLTIers,
A former colleague asked the following. I am stumped - a condition more usual
than not these days - but thought others in our field might know.
Though we are in the Boston area, I think that the tape could be sent out
elsewhere if need be.
My colleague asks: "I have a quick question.  Do you know of a place that
repairs broken video tapes?  We have a very special family tape where the end of
the tape has been detached from the reel."
