Title: Assistant Professor, Foreign Languages
Full-/Part-Time: Full-Time
Start Date: August 2010
Hours: Full-Time, 10 Months
Description: Teaches four courses per semester, unless a course  
reduction for language acquisition program modernization/development  
is arranged, on a yearly basis and as deemed appropriate by the Chair,  
Dean, and VP of Academics. When appropriate, assists the Chair in  
conducting workshops and training sessions for foreign language  
faculty and any lab-type instructors. Offers input on foreign language  
curriculum initiatives. Advises up to 20 students. Maintains an active  
research agenda as reflected in publications, conference  
presentations, development of grant proposals, etc. Provides service  
to the department, school, and the College. Performs other duties as  
required and as allowed by ECFA-Endicott contract.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in foreign languages-related field preferred;  
M.A. required. Doctoral students who are ABD and who will complete  
their dissertation by August 1, 2010 considered. Commitment to  
contribute actively to College's efforts to develop and refine its  
foreign language program and instruction. Prior college teaching  
experience and a commitment to teaching undergraduates. Knowledge of  
and skill in the use of progressive approaches to foreign language  
acquisition and pedagogy. Understanding and utilization of technology  
for pedagogy is required. Strong communication, organizational, and  
interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within an  
evolving department. An active research agenda or evidence of  
scholarly potential.
