Today (Nov. 12) Ed Hack and I looked for birds along the Connecticut
River between the White River and Pompy. Here are some highlights.
A Gray Catbird, late for the season, was in brush along the
Connecticut River at the eastern end of the White River Junction park
located to the north of the White River at its confluence with the
Connecticut River. There were 2 robins in that park.
A mockingbird was conspicuously perched on a roof top in Wilder near
the Wilder Dam. American Tree Sparrows were represented by a flock of
9 at Kilowatt Park South in Wilder, a few others at Kilowatt Park
North, and a few more near Pompy.
Two Pied-billed Grebes were in Vermont waters on the west side of the
Connecticut River near Pompy.
Hooded Mergansers included 5 near the Wilder Dam and a flock of 9 in
Vermont waters near Pompy.
