Hello and welcome to the Vertical Challenge!!

The sub clubs will once again be squaring off against one another in efforts to collect the most points and win the challenge.  You collect points by either climbing, hiking, kayaking, or mountain biking.  Guidelines for sending in points are as follows:

Kayakers:
All vertical is multiplied by 5 regardless of difficulty of river. This should allow beginner and intermediate kayakers to still kick ass!

Climbers:

5.0-5.5 => x1
5.6-5.7 => x2
5.8-5.9 => x3
5.10 => x4
5.11 => x5
5.12 => x6
5.13 => x7
5.14 => x8

If you are climbing trad add one to your multiplier. If you are not sure what you did, just ask Palmer, because I'm not sure what you did either...


Hikers:

You get points for height gained as well as lost.  Multiply total elevation by 1/4 when just hiking, or by 1/2 while doing trail work.

Mountain bikers:
We will try to use the same system that was used in the summer.  For now, keep track of your rides, and as soon as I figure out the system, I'll blitz out.


The double day is still in effect.  If you do more that one sport you get the points from whichever you scored less in again for the club of your choice.  

For the triple day, do all three sports in a day and then you get points from your two lower totals added again to the club of your choice.

If you do a quadruple day, the points from the three lower scores get added again to the club of your choice.

Also, if climbind, hiking, or dropping vert just isn't for you...be on the lookout for the horizontal challenge (coming soon to a Dartmouth near you...)
