Dear LLTIers,

I am sending this e-mail with a mix of sorrow and happiness. I have
recently accepted a new position at the Italian Cultural Institute in
New York, and therefore resigned from Connecticut College. I will be
starting my new position on September 1st.
As for the Language Lab, we found a temporary replacement who will
oversee the facility at the beginning of the academic year (and you
all know how busy that time is!). Soon the College will have a
search for a permanent replacement and this position will be
advertised (check back on LLTI). If you have any question regarding
the opening contact Chris Penniman ([log in to unmask]) or me at my
new e-mail ([log in to unmask]).

LLTI has a special place in my heart and in my professional life. It
was because of a posting on LLTI that I applied for my first job at
the Connecticut College, more then 10 years ago. This list server has
been such a wonderful resource. Where else could I have found the
solution on how to properly implement web pages using Traditional
Chinese character set when UNICODE did not exist (remember then?) or
how to "properly" to clean up an pair of headset ...??!

Well, it is time to say farewell now. Thank you all your help and
support, and a special thank you to NERALLT (sorry I will miss the
Fall meeting, for the first time joint with NEALLT!). If you are
coming to the city, please stop by and say hello. Also, if you have
any questions regarding initiatives sponsored by Italian Cultural
Institute in New York (including also projects of cultural
cooperation) please contact me. I do not have an official e-mail
there yet, so for the moment use my personal address [log in to unmask]

Thank you all, and very best wishes for the upcoming Fall semester!

Marisa
