Dear LLTIers,

A Japanese instructor has requested that our language center purchase a Karaoke
system. She likes the ones that display text as well as play music and provide
the microphone input for the rising vocal stars. <grin>

I'm sure this system would be used for/by other languages as well. Does anyone
have recommendations for a unit that is portable but also of decent quality?
I've seen them ranging from under $100 to several thousand, but we are clearly
looking for something in between. I know very little about this technology, so
any and all pointers on hosting Karaoke are welcome, including appropriate
snacks to serve...
