Congrats to C. Crawford for siting hooded meganzers on the Mascoma. We can
understand her question of Bubble Heads, which Peter and I believe we saw
and, subsequently, noted to UVBirders, as BHs are costal birds. What we saw
(admittedly with the naked eye, but at 20/20 I do fairly well) were what
appeared to be two "squat" males, one of whom was "dappling". Since the
siloutee was shorter than a meganzer & since meganzers dive rather than
dapple & since there was considerable white on the body, we believe we saw
buffle heads.
