ATTENTION FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFESSIONALS

 

The 2009 SCOLA Conference will be held Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May
1st with a full schedule of conference presentations by renowned language
teaching experts from both the USG and educational sectors.  Over the course
of this conference attendees will also have an opportunity to interact with
these experts and receive "hands-on" tutorials for all the SCOLA language
training resources. SCOLA as the leading provider of actual foreign video
programming, representing 110 countries and 95 languages, cordially invites
you to attend this conference to learn about SCOLA, to share your expertise
with others and to enjoy our internationally acclaimed hospitality.  Please
join us for this informative, productive and enjoyable forum for foreign
language professionals. 

 

Check-in and registration for the SCOLA conference will begin at 10:00 a.m.
on Thursday in the lobby of the Doubletree Hotel at 16th and Dodge Streets
in Downtown, Omaha with lunch served in the adjacent dining room beginning
at 11:00 a.m.  Presentations will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Executive
Meeting Center on the 19th floor of the hotel and the day's activities will
conclude with dinner and an evening of amusement park fun at the one of a
kind Thunder Alley in Omaha, Nebraska.  Friday will begin with a bus ride to
the SCOLA campus in Iowa for more presentations, an on-going continental
breakfast, tours of the SCOLA facility and hands-on tutorial sessions for
all the SCOLA services (World TV Online, Insta-Class, "On the Street
Videos," Digital Archive, etc.) presented by the SCOLA Staff.  The
conference will conclude with lunch at the Riverside Grill on the banks of
the Missouri (10 minutes from the Omaha airport) and will feature a
Congressional presentation.

 

A $100 conference registration fee provides lunch on both Thursday and
Friday as well as the unwinding festivities on Thursday evening.  SCOLA will
see to any transportation needs to and from the airport and provide a wide
variety of snacks and refreshments.  SCOLA has reserved a block of rooms at
a special conference rate at the Doubletree Hotel and other conference
information (including early registration and travel information) is

suited for busy conference participants who can fly into Omaha on Thursday
April 30th, attend the conference and fly out Friday May 1st with only a
one-night stay in Omaha. Omaha's Eppley Airport provides turn around
services for all the major airlines and direct flights from Reagan/National
on Midwest Airlines are available.  We look forward to seeing you here!
