Title: Language Laboratory Director and Instructor of Modern Languages
Major Responsibilities:
* supervising a computer-based language lab and several student workers
* securing permission rights to digitize and store materials
* scheduling lab use by faculty and maintaining and scheduling use of A-V
equipment in the department
* providing in-service training to faculty members and working with faculty on
individual projects
* working with the Division of Computer and Information Technology in scheduling
updates and repairs of hardware and
software
* coordinating the placement testing program
* serving as the departmental webmaster
* attendance at professional meetings
* making hiring and budgetary recommendations subject to review by the
department chair
* Some language teaching (typically two courses per semester) will be expected
Qualifications:
* M.A. in French, German, or Spanish
* familiarity with language lab systems, satellite TV, and computer software
* evidence of teaching effectiveness
Employment conditions: A nine-month full-time non-tenure track appointment with
the option of summer employment if funds
are available. Additional teaching might also be available in the summer. Salary
dependent upon qualifications.
Position availability: August 18, 2009

continue until the position is filled.
