Assistant Professor of Second Language Acquisition
Drake University's Language Acquisition Program (DULAP) invites
applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor in
Second Language Acquisition in the College of Arts and Sciences,
starts Fall 2009. Ph.D. or advanced ABD in Second Language
Acquisition or related field preferred. Preference will be given to
candidates with expertise in teaching Spanish.
Applicant should have native or near-native fluency in Spanish, as
well as fluency in French and English. Experience with language
learning technologies, people skills, particularly the ability to work
collaboratively. Duties include collaborating with other DULAP
faculty, choosing course materials and developing syllabi for Spanish
courses; training and mentoring native-speaking Language Partners;
monitoring student practice sessions and coaching Spanish students.
Additional duties may include teaching, preparing presentations for
conferences, developing or adapting language-specific course materials
for use online. May contribute courses to interdisciplinary programs.
