MISSION OF IJVPLE

Prospective authors are invited to submit manuscripts for possible  
publication in the
International Journal of Virtual and Personal Learning Environments.  
The primary
objective of IJVPLE is to study and disseminate research about the  
design,
development and evaluation of online learning. IJVPLE is committed to  
encouraging
the best teaching and learning practices by examining the role of  
technology
enhanced learning in the emerging area of virtual and personal learning
environments.

The International Journal of Virtual and Personal Learning  
Environments provides
readers with a comprehensive coverage of developments in learning  
technologies
for an international readership of educators and trainers. The journal  
is a primary
source for academics, professionals, corporate trainers and policy  
makers in
information and communications technologies. The journal publishes  
work of a high
standard on a range of fields associated with Course Management  
Systems (CMS),
Learning Management Systems (LMS), Virtual Learning Environments (VLE),
Personalized Learning Environments (PLE), Social Networking Software  
(SNS), and
3D virtual worlds, including for example Second Life (SL).

Articles published in the journal cover the whole range of education  
and training,
concentrating on the theory, application and development of learning  
technologies.
There is a particular interest in the application of new and emerging  
information and
communications technologies in education and training.

SUBMITTING PAPERS TO IJVPLE

Prospective authors should note that only original and previously  
unpublished
articles will be considered. INTERESTED AUTHORS MUST CONSULT THE
JOURNAL'S GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS at http://www.igi-
global.com/development/author_info/guidelines submission.pdf PRIOR TO
SUBMISSION. All article submissions will be forwarded to at least 3  
members of the
Editorial Review Board of the journal for double-blind, peer review.  
Final decisions
regarding acceptance/revision/rejection will be based on the reviews  
received from
the reviewers. All submissions must be forwarded electronically to

BOOK REVIEWS

IJVPLE publishes reviews of recently published books relating to the  
use of
information and communication technologies and education. Book reviews  
should be
not more than 2,000 words in length, including references. The  
following information
should be provided below the book title:
* Author
* Publisher
* Date of publication
* Number of pages
* ISBN
* Price

The book should be briefly summarized, referring to the sequence of  
chapters,
before engaging in a critical analysis of the contents. Book reviews  
should normally
include reference to research in relevant or related areas. Reviews  
should be
