Hi,

One free program is Windows Movie Maker. Every XP machine with SP2
should have it, and so does Vista. My students are able to learn the
basic features in about 20 minutes, and even those students with
iMovie Mac knowledge have no problems editing their group videos for
their German class projects in the Windows world.

Free online tutorials are:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/create/default.mspx

and

http://www.papajohn.org/ Navigate through the menu on the left.

I hope this helps.
