Scott:

Yale has contracted with a 3rd party (CDigix http://www.cdigix.com/cdigix/)
for streaming multiple forms of video, including French in Action. We've had
a lot of difficulty managing the interactions of CDigix/CLabs, RealPlayer,
and our security settings. However, there's a ton of content made available
to students. Though I haven't had any involvement, my guess is that our
contract with CDigix covers rights management costs.

As far as I know, Yale's own streaming server is limited to Yale-created
content. This server is run by Yale's Center for Media Initiatives
(http://cmi2.yale.edu/).

Any copyrighted works that we use at the CLS are limited to clips and
limited by IP to Yale's users.

Best,
Trip

Any opinions expressed here are mine alone. If Yale wanted my opinion,
they'd tell me what it was.
