Hello Everyone,

Emory College Language Center at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, has an
immediate full-time permanent opening for IT Specialist. I have included the

IT Specialist - Emory College Language Center (5856BR)

Job DESCRIPTION:  Supports all technologies and initiatives in the Emory College
Language Center.
Consults with language faculty and graduate teaching assistants to determine
appropriate technology use within language coursework and research. Tests and
evaluates emerging technologies for use in language pedagogy.  Develops
curriculum for faculty technology workshops and outreach programs.  Supports
creative and innovative uses of technology in academic courses and study.
Provides consultation on appropriate technology use, demonstrates best
practices, and recommends assessment tools.  Manages daily operations of the
Language Center technology facilities, including supervising and training
student employees, assisting students and faculty with various instructional
technologies, supporting faculty and graduate student workshops, coordinating
with the other Centers of Educational Technology, and other strategic
initiatives and programs. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor's degree and five years of experience
evaluating, testing and/or recommending technology or an equivalent combination
of education, training and experience. Strong background in Course Content
Management Systems (i.e. Blackboard, WebCT, etc.), Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft
Office, Adobe Photoshop, and digital video editing applications. Working
knowledge of HTML and web development technologies. Experience in an educational
environment preferred.  Knowledge of iMovie, Final Cut Pro, DVD creation
software, podcasting, class capture, and audio visual systems desirable. 
Working knowledge of Ethernet and wireless networks, networked printing, and
imaging solutions preferred. Fluency in a second language is strongly preferred.
