Hi,

In the olden days of tapes, they wanted to charge extra if students copied

them (on lab duplicators) to listen individually. I convinced someone there,
by

correspondence, that it was unreasonable to expect many students to listen

to a tape at once (which their basic license allowed) and that the result of

copying tapes (many students could listen to a tape) was the same.

Don't know if this is relevant to CD's.

(now teaching math at Holyoke Community College)
