Hello

At Northeastern Illinois University our instructors use Integrated
Chinese Second Edition and we used the First Edition previously.

It's a popular and pedagogically sound book, but the audio CDs are
expensive for site licensing.

http://www.cheng-tsui.com/store/products/integrated_chinese

Another option would be to have students buy the individual CDs.

Hope this helps your selection.

Dear Sharon:

UC Berkeley's Chinese Program (in the department of East Asian
Languages and Cultures) uses Integrated Chinese, 2nd Edition, Level
1, Parts 1 & 2 for first year Chinese, and Level 2 for second year.
They use textbooks, workbooks, and the audio programs. Cheng and Tsui
is the publisher/distributor. For more detailed information on
articulation of the first and second years, please contact the
Chinese language program coordinator, Cecilia Chu
([log in to unmask]).

The Chinese teaching staff have developed many ancillary materials
for teaching heritage language learners as well as learners with no
Chinese language background. Some of this curricular innovation and
development came about through Berkeley Language Center fellowships
for lecturers, making the BLC justifiably proud of its contribution
to the quality of the language program.

HTH,
Victoria
