This morning (March 24) a male Brown-headed Cowbird was in the backyard here in
Norwich village along with a mixed species flock of a few dozen birds including
European Starlings, Red-winged Blackbirds, and Common Grackles. This was my
first sighting of a cowbird in Norwich this year and thus an additional sign of
spring.

(My earliest ever spring sighting of this species in Norwich was of two
individuals here at the house on March 8 in 2004.)
