>Subject: Digitizing from VHS or Laserdisc
>Date: Mon, 3 Mar 2008 14:56:06 -0500

Hi Folks,

We've had a bunch of requests recently to digitize full frame clips
from VHS and Laserdisc, for our film classes. We've been trying to
use a couple of Digital Converters from Canopus (ADVC 110 and 300),
with disappointing results. The clips were really unusable for a
film course and file sizes were huge. We're using a Mac-Pro and have
tried recordings using iMovie, Quicktime and BTV. Is there a problem
with the software, or some settings we're missing? Does anyone have
other hardware solutions that have worked?

Thanks,

- Mike
