Hello

We have been using the Speedlink Triton for a couple of years with no
breakages or damage. The 'over the head' band is comfortable and does not
upset hairstyles! The mic is flexible but really tough. The ears are
completely covered avoiding health issues but it lets in just the right
amount of ambient sound. Volume and tone controls. The long single lead,
5', does not divide until the last foot and so does not tangle.

An alternative is the Altec/Plantronics AHS3021 which fits around the back
of the head - a bit odd at first and it can slip. However, it has great
sound quality and a three way switch with a high boost mic switch to cope
with the vagaries of impedance levels on pc inputs.

We have used them with both jack and USB inputs.

Hello Todd,

You might be interested in using the USB Sony SHS80; They are very sturdy,
and cover the ears properly without squashing the head as some others might
do. Another important aspect is that it contains an in-built sound card to
improve the quality of the recording which driver installs itself in XP and
the microphone is solid, (not flexible which is more fragile) and does not
contain foam at the tip (which is tempting for younger users to remove and
play with). We are very happy with them http://www.sansinc.com/headset.html
Hope this helps!

We here at the University of Waterloo Language Lab would like to explore the
possibility of equipping our two language lab rooms with noise canceling
microphones.

These can be on a headset or table top.

We looked at a few products and wonder how effective the noise canceling
properties are.
Can we hope to have a row of people recording at the same time without each
interfering with the other.

If you have anything to recommend please feel free.

Look forward to your response,
