Yeah, it was 106° F the second week we were here, but we have air conditioning so we can take it.  Quite amusing how cool 85° feels sometimes though.  ;)

The lower part of the highway 50 corridor has changed a lot, even in recent years, but I'm pretty sure the part above Placerville is largely the same.  Folsom is no longer a little town, for example.
