Hi, Patricia;

I recommend the Sony ICD-P320 digital recorder for this sort of work.

(About $60).

The iPod is a listening device and it isn't designed for recording.

The Sony makes WAV files that can be converted to mp3.

I'm using it to podcast for my online Spanish course this term and it works
well.

Best,
