At the marvelous IALLT 2007 conference, graciously hosted by Ed Dente, Tufts and
good colleagues (thanks Ed and all!), Philomena Meechan and I gave a session
UM.Sitemaker: Powerful Options and Data Tables for Building Comprehensive
Websites session (abstract below). As a note to attendees, the site has been

Abstract
Participants will learn about creating websites using UM.Sitemaker, a
powerful open source web tool with authoring options that range from
simple content presentation to complex data tables with various levels
of access. Layouts include text and images, list of links, mixed media
frames and data access tables. UM.SiteMaker is designed to enable
administrative control, content authorship and access targeting specific
areas of a site or specific files, and distributed across groups or
individuals. Did we mention Unicode, a sophisticated WYSIWIG editor
and a search function? Current implementations include professional and
instructional peer review, conference sites, image galleries, portfolios
and collaborative student publication. We will focus on instructional
and administrative implementations by providing demonstrations of active
course and departmental sites.
