Chuck,

Is the contents of your document something that could be turned into an
audio edition?

If you had someone record the book in Garage Band and add it as mp3
files, a lot of DVD players will play those as well, so you could have
your slide show option or and audio option if you wanted to try and
cover visually impaired. Create each section of the book as an mp3, and
I suspect if they were named consecutively, then the dvd player would
play them back that way.

What are the steps to make a 'slide show' of a PDF document?

Would it play well on a <blech!> Windoz machine? Even VISTA? A
DVD-to-Televison system? As it would on a Mac?

The idea of a SOUND FILE on such a disc had not crossed my mind, but
you DO have a fascinating idea there. THANKS!!!!!

Obviously a 40-page document would not take up a LOT of space on a DVD
disc. We could do SO MUCH MORE!

WONDERFUL idea! Thanks, ever so much for that moment of inspiration.
