Subject: Sony Virtuoso/Soloist Digital Lab for ASL and Interpreter Training

To clarify, SANS Inc. is the exclusive licensor and developer for Sony Language
Learning Software. We have taken the core Sony digital language lab technology
and
further developed this technology for American Sign Language and other visual
learning applications. Schools currently using the Sony Virtuoso/Soloist
software
for spoken languages can easily add on the plug-ins for ASL. All of the
products in
the Sony Virtuoso/Soloist line have this technology scalability making it cost
effective to upgrade in terms of dollars, ramp-up & training, and space
allocation.

The Sony Virtuoso/Soloist System for ASL and Interpreter Training is a
software-based
fully digital solution. As such, all video and audio interaction is
accomplished
over the LAN with no additional external hardware (unlike some of the hybrid
solutions mentioned before). This eliminates the need to carry around VHS
tapes.

With input from ASL educators, we've developed the Virtuoso ASL software
incorporated
with full-motion, NTSC cameras instead of using webcams in order to capture all
of
the nuances of the ASL visual language. We capture video as MPEG4 producing high
quality video with smaller file size.

The Virtuoso software enables real-time audio/video communication between the
instructor and students. This includes VIDEO MONITORING (view any student
camera on
the teacher's PC), VIDEO ALL CALL and GROUP CALL, VIDEO STUDENT MODELING, VIDEO
INTERCOM (between teacher and student), VIDEO PAIRING/GROUPING OF STUDENTS and
more.

With the Sony Soloist ASL digital comparative recorder, students have tools to
do
AUDIO/VIDEO COMPARATIVE RECORDING as well as VIDEO/VIDEO COMPARATIVE RECORDING
with
synchronized playback using multiple video windows. All of the students' work is
saved digitally and can be reviewed using any PC. The Soloist digital recorder
for
ASL can be used in conjunction with the Virtuoso Software in an instructional
setting
or may be used for stand-alone, independent study. Additionally, the multimedia
lesson creation tools that come standard with Soloist are being used in new ways
to
create lessons for ASL and Interpreter Training classes.

The Sony Virtuoso/Soloist solution is proven technology in spoken language
applications and is currently being implemented in ASL and Interpreter Training
Programs around the country. Our growing ASL client list includes Flagler
College,
Cy-Fair College, Baylor University, Hamilton Southeastern High School, Madonna
University, Fishers High School, Del Mar College and others. Links to several of
these users can be found on our website at www.sansinc.com.

If you are interested in knowing more about all of the features in the Sony
Virtuoso/Soloist ASL software suite, and/or want to arrange an on-site demo,
please
contact Bryan Ellis, the SANS Inc. National Sales Manager at [log in to unmask]
or at
972-871-7222.

(SANS will also be available at the IALLT Conference and at CALICO. Please feel
free
to visit with us at those venues as well.)

Thanks for your interest.

Stella.
