Wolfgang

We are not sign language experts but we are working with video resource
producers in the UK to create language learning resources in a way that
echoes your specific need. Specifically we are using Langlab from
www.elanglab.com where the ability to incorporate short video clips
automatically linked to structured lessons seems to be exactly what you need
especially as students can progress at their own rate and in their own time.
The video does not need to be mega resolution as it can appear as a small
window underneath the lesson item. On a practical note we have had 25
students concurrently watching separate video clips with absolutely no
issues about bandwidth or latency. We do recommend The GNU vlc media player
from http://www.videolan.org.

Kate

Subject: #8502 Sign Language LAb setup

Hi,
do we have any American Sign Language people on this list who can help.

The communications department is looking for a 20 place computer
based lab set up to teach ASL.
They have seen the Sanoko 300 from Tandberg and heard about the Sony
ASL set up.

Seems the real problem maybe the video part.

Any reactions, suggestions - on this list or in private are greatly
appreciated.

Wolfgang
