Hello,

I am writing in response to the following inquiry. I am teaching first
year Chinese. At the moment, all of our first year Chinese classes (three
tracks with 12 sections this fall) and second year Chinese classes (3
sections) use LangLab. We use it mainly for students to practice listening
and speaking. Students can also record their speech and compare it with
the original. All audio clips are stored in the server, which means they
do not take up teacher's computer space. The software has developed a new
module recently; it's called "Let's Talk". It allows conversations in
pairs or groups, and they can be recorded. There are other functions, such
as input answers, fill-ins, etc. In general, this software is easy to
operate. I hope this information helps.

Regards,
Lihua Zhang

Hello,

I'm wondering if there are any LangLab users who could talk about their
success/or other with LangLab software. We are looking at it as a possible
replacement for/add-on to our old Tandberg system and would like some
feedback from users.

In our Language Center we use Macintosh G5 towers with OSX 10.4.8. We have
an older Tandberg cassette system in place and would rather not dismantle
all the components which still work well to add the digital functionality.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Helen
