Betty,

I am using Rosetta Stone in my first-semester German class. Students must make up each absence. They go to my small lab and have a choice of watching the video that goes with the textbook, watching the old Deutsch Direkt videos, or doing Rosetta Stone Level 1. Almost all opt for the latter. They often work in pairs and I know they really enjoy working with the program.

I just purchased Level 2 because of the enthusiastic student response. I should also say that our dean is diligently studying German on his own and was also urging me to get Level 2 because he liked Level 1 so much.

I have no experience with the online service.

Is anyone using Rosetta Stone products as adjunct materials for 1st and 2nd-year lanmguage instruction? Is a license required to do this? And how do the CD-ROMs compare to the online service?

Thanks,
Betty Woerner
