Andrew and all,
I kind of agree with you on the limited range of programming on
SCOLA, but their new "Streaming" service obviates any issue of
scheduling. You can download programs from a 7-day rolling archive
of all their broadcasts. They now have 5 channels and a
substantially increased set of countries and languages. They also
have more cultural programming, not just news. This material comes
without any rights restrictions for educational use. The only down
side is that it is expensive - $1,995/year for live streaming and
downloading from the five channels, after you have the basic
"affiliation." But as we teach a large number of languages, there is
no way to get this much content so freely (from a rights point of
view) from DishNetwork.
